Question by Sarah D: How does being a twin affect marriage relationships?
My husband is an identical twin and the twin relationship is something I (not a twin) just can’t understand… It’s hard for me to accept that my brother’s twin comes first in his life. He would say that I come first, as his wife, but I feel disconnected from him because of his relationship with his twin. Does anyone have any advice? Or better yet, any books or articles about this topic?

Maybe you could have an open relationship with both brothers? Would save any feelings of alienation or exclusion. Its got to be worth a go?

Well, twins are usually close. They have a special bond that you can’t take away; but yet, you are his wife, so just try to understand that you are still special to him, but in a different way. After all, he married you, not his brother. You could also try what we call, talking to your husband about it, a serious talk.
I’m not a twin, but my dad is. Oddly enough though my dad and his twin weren’t close; they barely seen each other (maybe once a year) and barely talked. (Frankly I’ve seen this uncle of mine, but never actually met him.) He died last year though from falling on ice when ice fishing. (he and my dad looked a lot a like~not identical twins but similar….except one weighed more than the other)
