Relationships Problems
No matter how secure or how great your relationship with your significant other may be, at some point you will begin to have relationships problems. If you feel like your relationship is having problems and you are unsure of what to do, there are a few things you can do to try to identify the problems and fix them. However, if the problems are too much you may feel that moving on from the relationship would be for the better.
Relationships Problems You May Encounter
One of the first relationship problems is a fear of intimacy. Now what this simply means is that we are often afraid that we may lose our sense of self in a relationship. It can also mean that you are afraid the other person will take up so much of your time that you will not be able to do the things that you like to do or that you may feel you won’t get to spend time with your friends. If you start to feel like the relationship is consuming all of your time then it would be in your best interest to talk to your partner and explain in the nicest way that you would like to spend some time doing something on your own. Every one needs their own space sometimes and if you explain this in a calm matter then they will understand.
Other relationships problems can include a fear of change. Naturally if you move in together you will feel anxious because this is all new to you. Especially if this is the first time you have lived with someone you are involved in a relationship with. Even being married at first can feel overwhelming because you have realized that you will be spending the rest of your life with this person. Keep in mind, however, this change may be scary but the best cure for this is to talk openly and honestly with your partner instead of bottling up your fears and then later having an argument because you were too afraid to open up and share your fears.
Relationships Problems – the Mother of all Problems
Fear of being abandoned is the last major type of relationship problem. This fear is the most common and even the healthiest of people struggle with this. As humans we are afraid of being rejected and we fear that someone is going to become distant and we will go out of our way to keep this from happening not realizing that in doing so we are in fact pushing the other person away. The best way to deal with this is to set goals for you and to let yourself be independent. By being independent you will be less worried about being left.
Relationships problems happen in every type or relationship and the best way to get through them is to talk about them and make steps toward resolving these problems together.
